Noncontrast CT (Caristo, FDA approved) is a cheaper technology. It could screen Apo E4 carriers for NONSPECIFIC brain inflammation in targeted areas. You Ca+PLA2 AA Pet could then be used in a more specific fashion. At least that's my thinking.
Well reasoned, well written. It reminds me of Eric Topol's recent comments concerning IL-6 inhibition and pinpointing where the inflammation is taking place. For the coronary arteries, FAI (fat attenuation index) applied to a non contrast CT could be used. If the coronary periarterial fat were inflamed, IL-6 blockade might work better. Could FAI be developed for the brain?

And a good whole diet with exercise helps the metabolism of these omega3s
